Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 22-03, dated 6 January 2022,
stating that the U.S. Government Contract Hopper Dredge GLENN
EDWARDS will be working in Southwest Pass from Head of Passes
(mile 0) to approximately mile 22 Below Head of Passes (BHP), and
in the Mississippi River from Head of Passes to approximately
mile 13 Above Head of Passes (AHP) through approximately
31 August 2022.
MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT BEGINNING ON APPROXIMATELY 14 MAY 2022 AND CONTINUING UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 21 MAY 2022, THE DREDGE GLENN EDWARDS WILL WORK IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER FROM MILE 22 AHP TO MILE 24 AHP.
THE DREDGE WILL THEN RETURN TO WORKING IN SOUTHWEST PASS FROM HEAD OF PASSES (MILE 0) TO APPROXIMATELY MILE 22 BELOW HEAD OF PASSES (BHP), AND IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER FROM HEAD OF PASSES TO APPROXIMATELY MILE 13 ABOVE HEAD OF PASSES (AHP) THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 31 AUGUST 2022.
The Dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be contacted on either VHF channel 67 or 16 for sailing instructions.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
