Amendment #1 - Charleroi Lock and Dam Monongahela River Mile 41.5, Closing of Chamber

Amendment #1 Details – The dates for closure of the chamber have been revised as detailed in paragraph 2.
- TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Notice is given that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing the 56-ft x 720-ft land wall lock chamber at Charleroi Lock and Dam, Monongahela River, during the week of 25 April 2022 as detailed in paragraph 2. This closure will support the ongoing construction work at Charleroi Lock and Dam.
- DELAYS TO NAVIGATION:
- The 56-ft x 720-ft single lock chamber will be closed to all navigation traffic from 7:00 AM through 17:00 PM on three consecutive days during the week of 25 April 2022 from 0700 to 1700 on the following dates: April 26, April 27, May 2, May 3, May 4. Updated closure information will be broadcast by radio on Channel 13.
- This will result in a river closure at Charleroi Lock and Dam, Monongahela River during these time periods.
- PROCEDURES: The Self-Help Program will be in effect for up bound and down bound traffic. All vessels must be moored on the land wall while in the lock chamber. Vessels will be directed where to tie off; two lock lines will be required. All vessels are to remain clear of the middle wall at all times. There will be no change to the lockage procedures for recreational boaters during this closure.
Information concerning lockages will be broadcast by radio on Channel 13 and any towboat not answering a call from the locks will be dropped to the end of the waiting list.
