Navigation Notice: Snake River

AMENDMENT TO NAVIGATION NOTICE 17526-1, 22-04b:
LOCK OUTAGES AT LITTLE GOOSE NAVIGATION LOCK

All work is now completed on the Little Goose floating guide wall and approaches to the navigation lock are clear of work barges.  The Little Goose navigation lock is now returned to full service.

A contractor will perform repairs of the upstream floating guide wall cable retaining system in December 2021 and January 2022.  The work will involve:

  • Drilling for a new cable anchor in the upstream landside navigation lock wall
  • Grouting the new cable anchor
  • Dredging to expose the riverside cable anchor point
  • Laying and connecting cable and chain for the new anchor system
  • Replacing bolts at the keyway system connecting the floating guide wall to the dam structure

To accommodate this work, the navigation lock will be closed daily, 0700-1700, from December 15, 2021 to January 15 30, 2022.  The lock will be fully open on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.  As opportunities emerge to open the lock during this work window due to contractor efficiencies, such as on weekends, amendments to this notice will be published.
