Notice to Navigation Interest – Forecast of Dredging and Marine Construction – Dredging Operations Extended

The Hopper Dredge “Terrapin Island” (Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC) will be operating dredging operations extended in the Bayport Flare. Dredging material is being discharge in the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) Zones D and F at the coordinates:

The contractor will mobilize the hopper dredge and commence dredging Bayport Flare. Contractor’s related floating plant such as survey boats will be used in and around the work area. Work will start August 20, 2022 with expected completion of September 20, 2022 October 1, 2022.
- Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
- Communications is to be accomplished via VHF-FM Channels 13, 16 and 66. The Traffic Center guards both Channels 11, 13, and 16 on a 24 hour basis. Respective dredge(s) should be contacted for coordination of passing and movement near all dredging operations.
