Winter Weather Update: Winter Storm Warning/
Advisory Remains in Effect Until 6 pm Today

Good morning Shreveport partners,

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 pm today for McCurtain County Oklahoma and Red River County Texas. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 pm today for portions of East Texas and all of Southwest Arkansas.

Timing and Overview:

Periods of light freezing rain will continue today across portions of East Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas, although temperatures are expected to slowly climb above freezing over portions of these areas throughout the day, thus ending the icing threat.


Additional Ice Accumulations:

  • Ranging from a tenth to a quarter of an inch across McCurtain County Oklahoma and Red River County Texas.
  • Ranging from a glaze to a tenth of an inch across East Texas and Southwest Arkansas.


  • Some ice accumulations are possible on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult in some areas, with minor tree damage and isolated power outages possible across portions of Red River and McCurtain Counties.
