For your situational awareness.....Favorable conditions for ice cover to increase will to continue until at least mid Thursday. Possibly another chance at some brief ice formation this weekend, then conditions appear to become much less favorable for ice into next week. Forecast confidence much lower that far out, but the majority of the weather model simulations are suggesting a warm-up to near average temperatures. That wouldn't be favorable for new ice, and might allow some slow melting.


Forecasts based upon the Peoria area. Assume that northern and northeast Illinois could be a few degrees cooler, but result will be similar.
