IRCA: Ice Conditions Update IW 03 Feb 2022

There has been little change in river and operational conditions since the 28 January update due to ice conditions. What changes we’ve experienced is a reduction in ice thickness and fluctuating percentages in coverage. Starved Rock still has their ice shelf and width restriction in spite of efforts to manually reduce the shelf. Unfortunately, it just gets packed back in with traffic.
Temps over the next two nights in Peoria are expected to be at or a few degrees below zero with day time highs in the upper teens. Afterwards a slow gradual warm up is forecasted going into next week.
