The crew at Peoria Lock will be dropping the wickets this morning.  They are dropping right at the lowest threshold for water levels in order to err on the side of safety with the quickly approaching snowstorm.  With last night's rainfall impacting the entire watershed, dam gates at all sites upstream of Peoria are opening up quickly so the low levels will be short lived if at all.  The very brief low water today will have no impacts to navigation and our crew will be reminding the tows in the area to be especially mindful of cutting their engines when going over the wickets.
