Engineer Research and Development Center located in Vicksburg, MS extended an invitation during the webinar to have navigation and other entities to visit the downstream approach model.  Pilot captains and others familiar with this location of the Illinois Waterway are welcome to visit the model in order to verify existing hydraulic conditions as replicated within the physical model.  This invitation extends through the month of March.  Interested individuals should contact Ryan Hoben who is leading the research team on this model.  Ryan’s contact information:  email ryan.m.hoben@usace.army.mil; cellphone number – 601-642-7068; office number 601-634-5191.  Rick Osborn is already coordinating to visit the model in February.

The Brandon Road Interbasin Project design team will continue to reach out to the Illinois River Carriers Association, Mike Blaske, for input as needed in between these larger navigation workshops.  Mike along with Rick Osborn and Ian McVicker have provided key inputs to date.  I wanted make sure everyone is aware of their important role in representing navigation’s interest on this project.  Their insights and continued collaboration are greatly appreciated.

Thank you again to everyone who was able to participate on yesterday’s workshop.  If anyone has any follow up questions or comments, please respond back to me.
