This section contains information of general concern to the Mariners. Mariners are advised to use caution while transiting these areas.
BLACK WARRIOR-TOMBIGBEE WATERWAY
AL - BLACK WARRIOR-TOMBIGBEE WATERWAY - Channel Condition
A turbidity boom has reportedly broke loose and is hung on a buoy near Mile 205.8. The river is passable but mariners should exercise extreme caution in this area. Efforts are underway to retrieve the loose boom. For additional information, contact Mr. Chad Brumelow, at (205) 752-3571.
AL - BLACK WARRIOR-TOMBIGBEE WATERWAY - MILE 341.4 - MILE 338.7 - MARINE EVENT
The University of Alabama Women’s Rowing Team will host a rowing race competition on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m., until noon and again on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 2:00 p.m., until 5:00 p.m. The event will take place on Oliver Pool (Mile 338.7 to Mile 341.4). Traffic will not be required to stop. Mariners are urged to exercise extreme caution when transiting the area. For additional information, mariners can contact Mr. Chad Brumelow, at (205) 752-3571.
CUMBERLAND RIVER
MILE 126.5 - BRIDGE REPAIR
Louisville and Nashville Railroad Drawbridge; Emergency Bridge Pier repair work is being conducted outside of the navigation channel, minimal impact to navigation is expected. Mariners may contact bridge tender or R. J. Corman Construction Team via VHF-FM Channel 13 or telephone (931) 980-4760, for more information.
TENNESSEE RIVER
MILE 386.0 - MILE 357.0 - AIDS TO NAVIGATION
Multiple buoys have been reported not properly marking the channel between approximate Miles 386.0 and 357.0. Mariners are urged to transit the area with caution.
