RIAC: New Date for Float-in of Merchants RR Bridge - Delays today 2MAR
The contractor had issues today with the jacks used to lower the old span. The main navigation span was closed several times for construction movements, it has been fully open since about 1330
The middle span will now be closed until about 1800-1900 today.

DATE CHANGED FOR THE FLOAT-IN OF THE CENTER SPAN OF THE MERCHANTS RAILROAD BRIDGE
Due to mechanical issues with the strand jack system the float-in of the new center span is now scheduled for March 4th. A 12-hour blockage of the main navigation span will be required starting at 6 a.m., March 4, 2022, with up to a 24-hour closure of the middle span.
