Sector Lower & Upper Command Center Merger
Good afternoon Mid-South AMSC Members,
The Coast Guard command centers at both Sector Lower Mississippi River and Sector Upper Mississippi River are merging. As a result, all command center functions previously conducted locally in Memphis will be transferred to the consolidated command center in Saint Louis, MO. The transfer of operations and communications will follow the below schedule:
- May 17, 2021: Consolidated command center assumes SLMR radio guard.
- May 24, 2021: Consolidated command center assumes all Marine Safety/Pollution cases and the Communications Unit Phones are forwarded (901-521-4804 and 901-521-4822).
- June 07, 2021: Consolidated command center assumes all remaining watch functions.
This Command Center merger will not impact industry operations. Sector Lower Mississippi River radios will be transferred and our phone lines (901-521-4804 and 901-521-4822) will be forwarded to the consolidated command center and still in operation. Please send any questions or concerns to our Coast Guard command center chief, Chief Warrant Officer Rex Walsingham at Rex.E.Walsingham@uscg.mil.
