Olmsted Locks and Dam (ORM 964.6) Diving Operations

Olmsted Locks and Dam (ORM 964.6) – In preparation to potentially have to raise the wicket dam, starting at 0900 CT tomorrow (23 February 2024) contract divers will be diving the wicket trench at Olmsted Locks and Dam, pending river conditions.  Navigation traffic may continue to transit over the navigation pass, until divers are far enough across the dam to warrant transitioning to the chambers.  At that point, traffic will transit through the lock chambers without swinging miter gates.  Diving is anticipated to continue through Saturday during daylight hours only.

Mariners should exercise caution when transiting the area and take all direction from the lock operators in the tower.
