The Parts Representative is responsible for the efficient handling and control of the parts business through proper inventory, recordkeeping, delivery, and reporting all while providing excellent customer service.

Job Function:

Working conditions may vary from well-lit office environment to outside conditions that may include high noise levels and/or extreme outdoor temperatures.  Must be able to sit for up to 75% of the workday.  May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  Valid Driver’s License in good standing is required.  This job may require long days, flexible hours and some weekends.  Some travel is required.

Job Essential Duties:

  • Records and places in inventory all incoming parts, units, components, and assemblies.
  • Analyzes stock, estimates usage, and prepares order forms as directed.
  • Maintains records, literature, catalogs, and price sheets as appropriate and as directed.
  • Tactfully handles customer parts problems and customer complaints in a friendly, pleasing, and personal manner.
  • Identifies proper part numbers, completes order forms, and ensures that deliveries are made on schedule for customers.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly Parts Department, ensuring safety and security are maintained.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Senior Management.
Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.  Trade school education is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate good verbal communication skills and can communicate and present in person, in writing, and on the telephone effectively in English.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to generate a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner on first impression
  • Some computer experience required.
  • Experience in a parts or inventory position in Construction, Equipment Sales, Lawn & Garden, Automotive, or other similar industry is preferred.
