Pike Island Locks and Dam Ohio River, Mile 84.2, Intermittent Closure of Primary Chamber

1) TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Notice is given that the U.S Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District will be intermittently closing the 110-ft x 1200-ft primary chamber at Pike Island Locks and Dam. The closures will occur daily during the work week as described in paragraph 2.

2) DELAYS TO NAVIGATION - PRIMARY CHAMBER CLOSED:

06 July 2026 - 0900 to 1300 EST (4 hours)

07 July 2026 - 0800 to 1600 EST (8 hours)

08 July 2026 - 0900 to 1300 EST (4 hours)

09 July 2026 - 0800 to 1600 EST (8 hours)

10 July 2026 - 0900 to 1300 EST (4 hours)

3) The closure is required to support core drilling on the guide walls.

4) PROCEDURE: The 110-ft x 600-ft auxiliary chamber will remain in operation during the primary chamber closure. Self-help will be needed for multiple cuts through the auxiliary chamber.

5) Mariners in the area are required to monitor channel 13 for updates or information during the closure period.
