After a nationwide search, the Port of Milwaukee is thrilled to welcome Ms. Maria Magyar Cartier to the Port Milwaukee senior management team as our next Market Development Manager. Ms. Cartier is expected to begin work at the Port on December 30, 2019, and she will also be visiting the Port as an attendee at the next Board of Harbor Commissioners (BHC) meeting on Thursday, December 12 at 8:00 a.m.
Maria comes to the Port with 20+ years in international marketing and, throughout her career prior to joining the Port, has demonstrated a capacity for implementing a variety of integrated and complementary marketing activities, including traditional, digital, and interactive approaches in the manufacturing space. Maria is fluent in German and conversational in French and Hungarian. As Port Milwaukee seeks to expand and diversify its domestic and international customer footprint, Ms. Cartier will join Jazmine Jurkiewicz, Port Milwaukee’s incumbent Trade Development Representative, in leading the Port’s efforts to market the Port and its tenants to new customers and stakeholders worldwide. Ms. Cartier replaces Peter Hirthe, former Trade Development Representative at the Port, who joined the U.S. Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC)’s marketing team in September 2019.
