Predicted Low Pressure System – Increasing Winds

At 1230 local, 10 October 2023, the National Weather Service reports a coastal low-pressure system reaching the Upper Texas coast by late tonight/early Wednesday morning with potential rainfall. The bulk of the rainfall is forecasted to be overnight, with the most widespread rainfall coverage over the coastal waters including northeast winds of 20 to 25 knots, with gusts up to 35 knots and seas from 5 to 8 ft can be expected over the coastal waters on Wednesday. Additionally, moderate to strong offshore winds and building seas may return Friday night to early Sunday in the wake of a cold front that will reach the coastal waters.
