Bacon Farmer Workman Engineering & Testing, Inc. is accepting applications for a Professional Land Surveyor (Springfield, IL; Belleville, IL; Cape Girardeau, MO)

Education/Experience:

  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Surveying/Civil Engineering or associated field
  • Currently holds or able to obtain professional land surveyor licensure in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum 5 years of land surveyor experience
  • Proficient with technology such as Robotic Total Station, GPS, and LiDar with the willingness and ability to train others
  • Familiarity with 3D scanning
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • High-level organizational and management skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to accept occasional out-of-town travel assignments and able to work overtime to meet project demands and deadlines.

  • Proficient in MS Office Programs (Word, Outlook, and Excel) along with Adobe Acrobat
  • Detail-oriented and thorough

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process accurate boundary surveys, parcel maps, subdivision maps, elevation certificates, legal descriptions, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, aerial control surveys and construction staking calculations
  • Perform research at courthouse, PVA office, City Hall, utility municipalities, etc. relevant to various survey projects
  • Serve as the administrator and communication link between the firm and client, consultants, and public authorities
  • Develop accurate project budgets and RFP/RFQ responses that achieve clients’ objectives
  • Direct land survey projects by organizing the work on the land survey project and determining appropriate procedures needed to accomplish the project.
  • Manage and coordinate field crew(s)
