Red River: Expected High Water

Due to recent and expected rains, we are closely watching river gauges. Alexandria is forecasted to reach trigger stage by Thursday, April 11. At that time, mandatory restrictions will be put in place.

The 4-day weather forecast indicates 5"- 8" of rain for the areas north of I-20 and throughout the Ark-La-Tex. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any changes.

* Tow power is to be 500 HP per barge
* Daylight only through the Alexandria bridges
* Most dikes are underwater and buoys are diving, so caution should be taken

Best,
Emily
