Red River Lock 1 Repair Update
Here is the latest update on the repair of Lock 1 (Boggs) from the Corps.
All,
See today's update on Boggs, attached. (BLUF): Continued efforts in removing the stuck wedges from the primary miter gate anchorage arm. The crews completed fabrication of the strong back to press the wedges on Monday. On Tuesday, several attempts were made but at 50 Tons of force the strong back started deflecting. Modification was made to the strong back today and was reinstalled. Currently there has been no movement in the wedges. The strong back is performing as designed they have applied up to 107 Tons of force on the wedges. Efforts are still on going to press the wedges out of the anchorage arm.
