Red River: Navigation & Dredge Update
Red River Navigation & Dredge Update
Pool Levels:
Shreveport Gage: Currently 19.7' and falling to 17.0', Monday, 16 May. (Pool is 14.0')
Coushatta Gage: Currently 25.7' and projected to be 25.6', Monday, 16 May. (Pool is 24.2')
Grand Ecore Gage: Currently 22.7' and projected to fall to 21.9' Monday, 16 May. (Pool is 20')
Alexandria Gage: Currently 22.0' and projected to fall to 21.4' on Monday, 16 May. (pool is 19')
ACME Gage: Currently 31.6' and projected to RISE to 34.6' by Monday, 16 May and this may not be the crest.
Red River Landing: Currently 47.4' and projected to RISE to a crest of 51.2' on Monday, 23 May.
Rule of thumb has been when river levels at Grand Ecore gage go above 25' water is over the dikes.
So far this year Grand Ecore has not exceeded 24.81', so river levels should have allowed the dikes to self clean the channel.
Siltation: Tows are requested to monitor siltation, at lock approaches, as the river falls, and report any sign of problems.
