1. All mariners are advised of dredging operations in the vicinity of Berwick Bay Harbor East Side, Atchafalaya River Mile Marker (MM) 118 to 122. Operations will commence on or around November 17, 2023, (in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Navigation Bulletin 23-140).


2. The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and give way to vessels using the waterway. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.

3. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conducts regular hydrological surveys of Berwick Bay Harbor. Mariners are advised to utilize these surveys during voyage planning. Surveys can be found here: under Missions > Navigation > Channel Surveys

4. Mariners are reminded of their ongoing responsibility to conduct and manage their required navigation assessments and voyage plans to prepare bridge teams for encountering known hazards.
