Ingram Marine Group is seeking a fast-thinking and determined professional to join Custom Fuel Services as Sales Manager, based in their Reserve, LA office. Armed with business acumen and superb interpersonal skills, the CFS Sales Manager is on the front line, networking with gulf region customers and tackling multiple priorities on a daily basis.

The successful Sales Manager has the finesse to fluidly juggle the pursuit of new business, maintain relationships with our existing customers, and monitor market and index pricing. What you'll be doing: 

  • Assisting with development and execution of fuel sales strategy
  • Prospecting, pursuing and securing new business, with a focus on blue water and lower Mississippi River markets
  • Maintaining relationships with a portfolio of existing customers, including regular onsite visits
  • Monitoring market and index prices and gathering competitive pricing intelligence to support the setting of fuel prices daily
  • Checking river conditions in order to anticipate sales opportunities in appropriate markets
  • Responding to and quoting customer price inquiries
  • Monitoring customer credit reports
  • Partnering with Credit department to monitor customer credit limits
  • Updating CRM system with customer information on a continual basis
  • Attending industry events and customer functions, and presenting at times

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years marine industry experience required
  • 3+ years sales experience highly preferred
  • Business, marketing, or technical sales related degree preferred
  • Experience in blue water shipping preferred
  • Familiarity of Lower Mississippi River mile markers (BRLA to NOLA) fleets and anchorages
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Basic understanding and experience with accounting principles and statements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to travel, including overnight 30%
  • Ability to work nights/weekends as part of on-call rotation
