Garver is accepting applications for a Senior Structural Engineer (College Station, TX)
As part of the Texas Water Design Center for Garver, this Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for developing structural designs in support of various projects for Garver’s Texas Water Design Center. Diversity in high-volume, custom treatment plant projects will allow this engineer the opportunity to be hands-on with design, directly involved with clients, provide mentorship to team members and actively participate in marketing initiatives.
What you’ll do:
Day-to-day responsibilities include structural support as required for a variety of water and wastewater projects, but the majority of the expected assignments will be related to developing structural designs for new water and wastewater treatments plants or improvements to existing water and wastewater treatment facilities.
This will consist of developing detailed structural designs for a wide variety of projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures associated with water and sewer infrastructure projects. Typical designs will include treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, retaining walls, and other supporting structures. The structural group will be responsible for the structural design calculations, coordination with other support discipline activities, coordination with regional offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.
In addition, the Senior Structural Engineer will assist the Structural Group Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver standardization
Some travel may be required, as projects may require field work for site assessment of project locations and support during construction. Due to the collaborative nature of coordination for large infrastructure projects, candidates must have the ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members. In addition, the candidate shall be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to recruit, develop and maintain an efficient and productive structural team
