Notice to Navigators
Notice number 19006-2
Snake River
Effective 3-16-22 07:00 thru 4-18-22 10:00 PDT
LOWER MONUMENTAL UPSTREAM FLOATING GUIDEWALL RESTRICTIONS
Repairs to the Lower Monumental Navigation Lock floating guide wall keyway are now completed. Commercial vessels may now tie up to the floating guide wall, and may perform crew changes at that location.
Until repairs to the floating guide wall keyway that connects the guide wall to the dam are completed, vessels transiting the Lower Monumental navigation lock must use caution when operating near the project’s upstream floating guide wall.
Specifically, vessels may not tie up to the floating guide wall. Additionally, vessels may not rub against the floating guide wall when approaching or leaving the lock, nor should they use the guide wall as a pivot point for entering the lock. Crew changes for commercial vessels may only take place within the lock chamber when the vessel is properly secured to floating mooring bits.
PROJECT AFFECTED:
Lower Monumental Lock and Dam - Snake River Mile 41.6
These restrictions will remain in place until repairs can be completed to the floating guide wall keyway. These repairs are planned for completion by 1700 on 15 28 April 2022.
