Southwest Pass, Pass A Loutre, & Southpass (Update)

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 22-118, dated 26 September 2022, stating that the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge EW ELLEFSEN will be working at the Head of Passes (mile 0), extending into the Mississippi River, Southwest Pass, Pass A Loutre, and South Pass until approximately 7 February 2023.

MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT CONTRACT CUTTERHEAD DREDGE EW ELLEFSEN HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT CONTRACT CUTTERHEAD DREDGE CAPT. FRANK.

Dredged material will be deposited through a combination of floating and submerged pipelines into designated placement areas on the east and west sides of the Mississippi River.

The Dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be contacted on VHF Marine Channel 67 for sailing instructions.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
