Subaqueous Stone Placement: Mississippi River – Mile 108.5 AHP RDB

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 23-152, dated 28 December 2023, stating that commencing on or about 2 January 2024 and continuing through approximately 6 January 2024, a U.S. Government Contractor will be placing subaqueous stone along the Right Descending Bank (RDB) of the Mississippi River at approximate mile 108.5 Above Head of Passes (AHP).

MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE SUBAQUEOUS STONE PLACEMENT WORK HAS BEEN DELAYED. THE WORK WILL NOW COMMENCE ON APPROXIMATELY 8 JANUARY 2024 AND CONTINUE THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 11 JANUARY 2024.

The Contractor will work 10 hours a day, during daylight hours, and the plant will include a spud barge with hydraulic backhoe. An office barge and various material barges will be on-site, staged along the river at this location.

During nighttime hours, the Contractor will be staged along the Right Descending Bank (RDB) out of the Mississippi River Channel. The M/V HERBERT J. PLAISANCE can be contacted on VHF Marine Channels 16, 67 and 72.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
