Tombigee River, Alabama Norfolk Southern Railroad Drawbridge Closure Tombigbee River Mile 89.9

| This is an update to Navigation Bulletin 26-107. Changes are shown below in bold.
Norfolk Southern Railroad will be repairing steel and installing scaffolding on the railroad drawbridge across the Tombigbee River, mile 89.9, near Jackson, AL. There will be two separate maintenance closures to install the scaffolding where the drawbridge will not open to vessels. The closures are scheduled for the following days: • 31 August 2026 to 3 September 2026, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day • 7 September 2026 to 10 September 2026, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day The drawbridge will operate as normal from 6:01 p.m. to 5:59 a.m. during these dates. Boats or vessels that do not need the drawbridge to open may pass beneath the bridge. The scaffolding will reduce the vertical clearance by 6 ft. in the raised and lowered positions from August 27, 2026 to May 31, 2027.
