1. As of 14 June 2022 at 23:15 hours, Melvin Price Locks and Dam is closed until further notice due to a tow breaking up resulting in two barges resting on the Lock and Dam wall.

2. The Lock will remain closed until the barges are recovered and a damage assessment can be performed.

UM201 Mel Price temporary closure 15JUN

Mel Price lock is closed to traffic this morning

Last night a NB tow departing the lock broke and at least a couple barges went to the dam. This morning there is one left on the dam to be removed. Good chance they will be locking again this afternoon.
