UMR Rock Island District Anticipated Lock Closures

The full river list of closure stages is attached for reference.

This morning’s QPF forecasts changed for the worse. Looking at the 5-day QPF forecasts, which is not gospel and subject to change, we could be looking at the following Lock closures:

Lock 12: Closing on or about 23-April to possibly 2-May.

Lock 13: Closing on or about 23-April to possibly 2-May.

Lock 16: Closing on or about 25-April to possibly 5-May.

Lock 17: Closing on or about 25-April to possibly 6-May.

These dates are ballpark estimates and subject to change.

At the moment, Lock 20 and Louisiana RR Bridge look to be on the bubble or right under their closure stages sometime near 5-May.

The good news is the Iowa reservoirs are all low and have capacity.
