Update
The lower wall should be cleared by 2300 tonight 1MAY.
If an industry vessel is available to pull cuts please contact the lock to coordinate the help.
It may be prudent to concentrate on locking NB tows using the aux chamber until daylight tomorrow.

Subject: RIAC Melvin Price lock main chamber down

A down bound  tow struck the upstream lift gate at Mel Price tonight 1MAY. The chamber is closed until USACE engineering evaluates the condition of the gate and lifting machinery, that will start at daylight tomorrow 2MAY. The aux lock is operational, but there is equipment tied off on the lower wall that will need to be moved before locking can start there. Four tows in the queue per LPMS at 2100.
