USCG: Berwick Bay Temporary Traffic Restrictions for Fireworks Event Notification

1. The Captain of the Port Houma advises all mariners of a temporary closure to all commercial traffic along Atchafalaya River through Berwick Bay at mile marker 118.5 to encompass a 500ft safety zone radius from the center of the fireworks barge in Morgan City, LA from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022. This temporary closure is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by the fireworks display during the Berwick Lighthouse Festival. Persons and vessels are prohibited from entering into, transiting through, or anchoring within the designated area unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Houma or designated patrol commander. Enforcement of the zone will be advertised via Broadcast Notice to Mariners.
