USCG Port Conditions-Return to Normal Port Status

SEC VA MSIB 366-22

As of 7:35 a.m., Saturday, October 1st, the Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) Virginia has reopened the port without restrictions.

Situation:

While vessel traffic is permitted to resume on the waterways, mariners are advised to continue monitoring the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service; winds are expected to increase again on Sunday, October 2nd as a result of Hurricane IAN. The COTP does not intend to impose any port conditions at this time, but will monitor weather conditions. If weather observations exceed forecasted predictions, the COTP will later evaluate if restrictions are necessary.

Please report any observed navigational hazards or aids to navigation discrepancies to the Sector Virginia Command Center at (757) 483-8567.

For any other questions relating to this bulletin, please call the Waterways Management Division duty officer at (757) 374-3408 or email VirginiaWaterways@uscg.mil.
