Waterways Status – Temporary Security Zone – New Orleans, LA

French Quarter Festival will be held in New Orleans, LA beginning on April 11, 2024 and lasting through April 14, 2024. As part of the celebrations, multiple events will be taking place on or adjacent to the Lower Mississippi River (LMR). In anticipation of these events, the Captain of the Port New Orleans, under the authority of the Ports and Waterways Safety Act, will be enforcing the following temporary security zone:

Temporary Security Zone; French Quarter Festival; April 11 - 14, 2024
- Commencing on April 11, 2024 at 10 a.m. and continuing until April 14, 2024 at 10 p.m.
- All navigable waters within 400 yards of the LDB between MM 94.4 and MM 95.1 AHP, LMR.

All vessels are prohibited from entering the above zone unless they have been granted permission by the Captain of the Ports designated representative, who may be contacted on VHF-FM Channel 16 or 67.
