Yager Materials is accepting applications for a Vessel Engineer (Owensboro, KY)


The vessel engineer is responsible for the vessels propulsion and auxiliary machinery. These responsibilities include but not limited to routine maintenance, inspections, repair planning, and troubleshooting the vessels main propulsion machinery, auxiliary machinery, and other various machinery associated with the vessel, completing proper documentation of all maintenance/inspections performed.


  • Commitment to safety, having a positive attitude towards safety policies
  • Previous vessel engineering experience required
  • Reporting accurate fuel, lube, water consumption
  • Conducting and documenting daily, weekly, monthly maintenance to vessel machinery
  • Ability to work 6 hour on, 6 hour off shift
  • Ensure vessel has adequate parts and supplies onboard
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED or ability to pass competency test
